Vickie Kissinger, mezzo soprano, is a classically trained singer, pianist, and organist, with a background in jazz piano studies. She holds a B.S. in Music Education from Millersville University. Vickie studied under the internationally recognized master voice teacher, Dr. Thomas Houser. Vickie also holds the title of “PA State Senior Idol 2012” where she was the winner of a vocal competition.
A former, part-time, public school teacher, Vickie runs a full time private piano and voice studio from her home. Her private music teaching has a deep concentration on special needs students. Her singing career has included a variety of recitals, concerts, and programs for Presidential campaigns, fund-raisers for charity, to numerous private banquets, and weddings. She began her church organist career at the age of thirteen and today serves as a church organist and a music director at two local churches.
Vickie was a featured clinician at the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association Conference, where she presented lectures on “The Fear of Teaching Special Needs Students.” She is a certified member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Music Teachers National Association, PA Music Teachers Association, Lancaster Music Teachers Association, American Guild of Organists and the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
